Research Interests

My research interests are in the design of learning-based solutions to computer vision problems. I am currently working on problems in Visual Wildlife Monitoring, Autonomous Driving and Road Safety and Target Tracking in Surveillance Camera Networks. Most of these problems require decision making based on lower-level learning tasks like object detection, tracking and domain adaptation.

Our group's focus is on designing semi-supervised learning algorithms that can leverage constraints from domain knowledge and geometry to learn with small amounts of labeled data. We frequently use tools from Riemannian geometry, robust and nonparametric statistics, signal processing and optimization and combine them with modern machine learning techniques.
